As Lonavala is located on the main railway line between the major destinations of Mumbai and Pune, all trains serving between the two cities halt here and it is easier for the travelers to access Mumbai and Pune. It is three hours travel from Lonavala to Mumbai and a four-hour train ride from Lonavala to Pune. Khandala is also connected by good bus services to Mumbai and Pune by road.
